A simple necklace with a durian flower carved coin pendant. The durian is such an important fruit here in Indonesia. It provides wildlife with food and the indigenous people source of making a living. Before turning into a spiky fruit, the clumps of flowers create a maginificent hanging bouquet from the tree’s branches. This beautiful bouquet is what we chose as the center of the pendant. The back of the pendant features a quote by Edwin Curran that says “Flowers are the music of the ground from Earth’s lips spoken without sound”. Along the chain on either side of the pendant are bezeled round faceted peridot stones that represent the green color of the durian fruit.
